Changing Up the Format
When I first started publishing the Cyber Seneca Letters, my intention was to do a weekly publication of parts of the letters I had written. To some degree, that was “successful”, as in I successfully published them. I’m not sure I was successful in getting the message out to people to read them.
The first post, “On Cyber Philosophy (Part 1)” remains my highest visited post. Not part two, nor any of the other parts of Letter 2 “On Shared Purpose.”
As I completed a cross country move this week, I had a lot of time to think about this passion project that is Cyber Philosophy. I realize now that a good reason that Letter 1, part 1 was so successful was because people wanted to read the whole thing then, not piece by piece.
Chopping up the letters into 1000 words at a time may be the “recommended” way to promote content, but it sacrifices the intention behind the letter: to impart wisdom.
Something needs to change, and I have a plan to try.
Show, Don’t Tell
So here’s the new plan:
Release the entire letter at once, once a month
Take a couple weeks to make podcasts on the letter, videos, all that
Those that want the whole thing will get the whole thing. And those that can’t read it right now may come back when they can later on to read.
Sometime this week, either June 7th or 8th, (depends on if my computer keeps breaking) I will release all of Letter 2 “On Shared Purpose.”
You will then see me shameless plug and promote the letter for the rest of June, ensuring that all who did not have a chance to read it might. I will publish weekly podcasts and videos detailing the letter, thoughts behind why I wrote it, how I came to write it, and if my thoughts have changed since publication.
Thank you for reading. I hope these words find you well, or put you on a path to be peace.
Farewell
